obviously, every situation is different, but for many situations, i believe there is some wisdom in this advice.. ---------------.

This is absolutely true. No longer needing or wanting the approval of family, "friends", and the congregation helps you cut the cord cleanly. It's not easy, but it's the only way to be free and live your life.

i don't think there are more pedophiles in the religion than there are in others.. i understand that one is too many.
but i think some believe that it's an epidemic within the organization.
i believe their 2 witness rule can help pedophiles secretly abuse kids.. but i don't think that this particular crime dominates those in the religion.. .
Witnesses don't have a higher than normal amount of pedophile cases. Pedophilia is a worldwide problem. And the way witnesses handle it isn't unique either. People in general have a hard time accepting and confronting this crime. We see that with the Penn State situation. There are many other examples.
But when a person is touched by it personally it tends to become larger than life. And understandably so.
i was at a nearby lake this summer and i came across a peculiar triangle shaped rock.
it looks man made, but i have no resources/money to check out what it is.
so i took pictures of it.
Sab when I saw the title of this thread I immediately knew the type of rock you had found. My husband found an almost identical one about 6 years ago. I think it was in a metro park or on the lake here in Ohio. Let us know what you come up with.

a series of events led up to an arugment with my parents last night.
my mom and dad told me that they found my videos that i was doing on youtube, and they told me that i was an apostate.
they said that they would help me if it was an emergency, but other then that, they didnt want anything to do with me.
Joliette, sorry that happened. I don't think anything can prepare you for the sting of being judged and shunned by your own family.
